About Us

I grew up with a love of history and geography, manifesting in my own extensive stamp and coin collection. Through a quirk of fate, in 1968 I started up Treasure Island Stamps and Coins, a small retail shop in Palo Alto, California. As with most small business, it's been a downhill and uphill adventure, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm a member of the American Philatelic Society and the American Numismatic Association. I say that with all humility. (wink)

Our inventory of United States and world stamps is massive as is our stock of U.S., Ancient and World coins. As a collector or dealer, you'll be surprised  by the extent of our inventory and also by the friendliness of the staff. (me)

Store hours are Tuesdays - Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but I'm often available for appointments on Mondays, so please call to schedule a time. Formal written appraisals are done at the shop for insurance, probate and estates, but I'm always willing to look over a collection and give an estimate during the day if time allows.
